July 2019:

Matthew McDaniel, Earns "Master CFI" accreditation for the 9th consecutive time.
Oak Creek WI

In July 2019, both the National Association of Flight Instructors (NAFI) and Master Instructors LLC announced the significant aviation accomplishment of Matthew McDaniel, the owner of Milwaukee's Progressive Aviation Services and resident of Oak Creek, Wisconsin. Matt's accreditation as a Master CFI (Certificated Flight Instructor) was renewed by both organizations, each a separate accrediting authority for Master Instructor designations, as well as the FAA-approved Master Instructor Programs. He first earned this national professional accreditation in 2003, has held it continuously since then, and is one of only 14 worldwide to have earned the credential eight (9) times. Additionally, he may be the only to have done so though BOTH FAA-Accredited MCFI Programs.

To help put these achievements in their proper perspective, there are approximately 100,000 CFIs in the United States. Fewer than 800 of those aviation educators have achieved that distinction thus far, and many of them for only 1 or 2 terms. Matt is one of only 17 Wisconsin teachers of flight to earn this prestigious "Master" title.

In the words of former FAA Administrator Marion Blakey, "The Master Instructor accreditation singles out the best that the right seat has to offer."

The Master Instructor designation is a national accreditation recognized by the FAA. Candidates must demonstrate an ongoing commitment to excellence, professional growth, and service to the aviation community, and must pass a rigorous evaluation by a peer Board of Review. The process parallels the continuing education regimen used by other professionals to enhance their knowledge base while increasing their professionalism. Designees are recognized as outstanding aviation educators for not only their excellence in teaching, but for their engagement in the continuous process of learning -- both their own, and their students'. The designation must be renewed biennially and significantly surpasses the FAA requirements for renewal of the candidate's flight instructor certificate.

July 2005:

Matthew McDaniel, Master CFI (Renewal: 13Jul05)

The National Association of Flight Instructors (NAFI) takes pride in announcing a significant aviation accomplishment on the part of Matthew McDaniel, owner of Progressive Aviation Services and a resident of Wisconsin. Recently, Matt's designation as a Master CFI (Certificated Flight Instructor) was renewed by NAFI, his professional aviation organization.

To help put this achievement in its proper perspective, there are approximately 85,000 CFIs in the United States. Fewer than five hundred of them have achieved that distinction thus far. The last ten national Flight Instructors of the Year were Master CFIs while Matt is one of only 8 Wisconsin aviation educators who has earned this prestigious "Master" title.

The Master Instructor designation is a national accreditation recognized by the FAA that is earned by candidates through a rigorous process of continuing education and peer review. Much like a flight instructor's certificate, it must be renewed biennially. This process parallels the continuing education regimen used by other professionals to enhance their knowledge base while increasing their professionalism. Simply put, the Master Instructor designation is a means by which to identify those outstanding aviation educators, those "Teachers of Flight," who have demonstrated an ongoing commitment to excellence, professional growth, and service to the aviation community.

Earning this designation is tantamount to having the words summa cum laude emblazoned on an instructor's certificate. These Masters truly represent the crème de la crème of our industry!

Jan. 11, 2003 - Cirrus SR-20 & SR-22 Checklists added to the Merchandise page.  PAS has developed comprehensive checklists for use in Cirrus SR-20 and SR-22 aircraft. These checklists were developed using the appropriate Pilot's Operating Handbook (POH) and experience gained during hundreds of hours of providing instruction in Cirrus aircraft. They incorporate color-coded sections for Normal , Abnormal & Emergency Procedures. Also included are V-speed charts, a circuit breaker panel diagram and a glide distance chart. The checklist is designed to rest on one thigh while in use and to store easily in any of the standard storage pockets of the aircraft. Anyone hiring PAS for a complete initial training program in a Cirrus aircraft will receive a complimentary checklist copy (hiring PAS for various other training or services may qualify you as well). As with any after-market checklist, these checklist are not FAA nor Cirrus approved and should be used only in conjunction with the approved POH.
